Difference Between Skyline Diffuser and 3D Diffusers 

Skyline diffusers are 2D arrangements of blocks based on primitive root or quadratic residue designs. They scatter sound both vertically and horizontally, but the number of diffusion elements is predetermined by their mathematical pattern, limiting how many unique diffusion paths they can produce.

3D diffusers often referring to custom-patterned diffusion surfaces—can be built with more complex geometries. That flexibility allows for a much larger number of diffusion points within the diffuser surface, giving the effect of near “unlimited” diffusion when designed at sufficient spatial resolution

3D diffusers offer effectively unlimited diffusion points, whereas Skyline diffusers have a finite number of diffusion wells—making 3D diffusers deliver superior performance in results.
