About GreatSound Acoustics
By the Integrators, For the Integrators.
These panels were not designed in a catalogue. They came out of real high-end home cinema projects — rooms that had to measure well, not just look good. Every product in the system exists because a real room needed it.
Founded by Paul Joseph Klattan, HAA Level 3 certified audio calibrator and founder of SMART Home Cinema, Madurai. HAA Level 3 is the highest professional certification in audio calibration, and that measurement-first discipline defines how GreatSound products are developed: we publish before/after REW measurements, not adjectives.
Why We Are Different
Why We Are Different
Anyone can sell you panels online. The difference is what happens before the panels go on the wall.
We don't sell panels. We design results. Placing panels randomly on a wall is easy — and it is why so many treated rooms still sound wrong. Take one example from our own project work: the first reflection point on a ceiling must be calculated so that it works for both the front row and the back row of seating. Get that calculation wrong, and the panel is in the wrong place for half your audience — the material was fine, the placement wasted it. Every GreatSound project and partner order can include this design layer: calculated reflection points, panel schedules, and placement drawings for the actual room.
Our approach is broadband, not cosmetic. Most room problems live below 1,000Hz — thin decorative panels only absorb highs and leave the real problems untouched. That is why our absorbers start at 75mm thickness and our bass traps go to 250mm, and why we tell customers honestly when treatment alone is not the answer.
We Predict Your Room Before You Order a Single Panel
Every serious GreatSound design runs through our in-house RT60 Predictor — a design tool built on published professional cinema acoustic design methodology. Enter the room's dimensions, its surfaces (plaster, drywall, carpet, glass, drape) and the treatment plan, and it calculates the room's predicted reverberation time (RT60) across the frequency bands that matter, compares every band against the professional target curve for that room's volume, and flags exactly where the design passes or falls short — before you commit to a panel count.
The engineering behind it is real: calculations use a reverberation equation that is the professional standard for treated rooms, with measured absorption data for every GreatSound panel, and the calculation engine has been verified against published industry reference examples. Our panels are manufactured in-house as standard stock products — what the predictor determines is exactly how many you need and exactly where each one goes for your room.
Alongside it, our Wall Elevation Generator converts the finalized plan into scaled wall drawings (DXF and SVG) showing exactly where every panel goes — drawings your site team, architect or CAD workflow can use directly. Your treatment plan arrives engineered, drawn and ready to install. And as with everything we do, the finished room is proven the way we always prove it: REW measurement.
How We Work — Four Levels of Treatment
Every room and budget is different, so the system is organised in four levels.
- Starter — focused on dialogue clarity: absorption at the critical reflection points so every word is clean.
- Starter Plus — adds bass traps for low-frequency control: the boom and muddiness that wall panels alone cannot fix.
- Premium — adds diffusion: the room stays alive and spacious instead of dead, with imaging that holds across the seating.
- Reference — a complete engineered room design for maximum performance: broadband coverage designed to reach the right RT60 for your room, with calculated placements, elevation drawings and measured verification.
For Integrators: Scale Without the Carpentry
Ask any integrator what the hardest part of acoustic work is, and the answer is rarely the acoustics — it is managing carpenters. Custom acoustic carpentry on site is slow, inconsistent and impossible to scale: while one project crawls, the next three wait.
GreatSound panels are pre-engineered and adhesive-mounted. No carpentry crew, no site fabrication, no rework — your own team installs them. Instead of being locked into one project at a time, you can run projects in parallel and grow the acoustic side of your business.
And if acoustic design is where you get stuck, we remove that barrier completely: we provide the treatment plan, the RT60 prediction, the panel schedule and the wall drawings. You just install.
One more thing we believe every dealer should hear: a home theater is not about colorful lights and fancy wall patterns. In a home theater, audio is king — and acoustics is the queen who decides how the king rules. The rooms that win referrals are the rooms that sound right.
